American Steve Stricker claimed victory yesterday at the Crowne Plaza International in a sudden-death playoff against Steve Marino and Tim Clark. All three players were tied at 17 under par after 72 holes. Stricker moved to number 13 in the World Golf Rankings, number 11 on the money list and is ranked 10th in the 2009 FedEx Cup point standings half way through the 2009 PGA tour.
Englishman Paul Casey, winner at last week's BMW Championship on the European Tour world's #3 ranked player, finished 5th with a respectable 15 under par.
