Hendrick Stenson's convincing 4-stroke magin of victory over Ian Poulter and the rest of the field yesterday at the 2009 Players Championship is solid proof that the 33 year old Swede is in fact ready to compete against the world's best on the PGA tour. Coming from back in the pack after Saturday's finish Stenson aggresively moved up the leaderboard with room to spare in Sunday's final round.
Stenson vaulted to #5 in the world golf rankings ahead of Kenny Perry and just behind Australia's Geoff Ogilvy.
What is next for Stenson? Well, he is rounding into form as the US Open at Bethpage Black rapidly approaches in June.
